ATS FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much vibration can the ELECTRO-LUBER™ withstand?

The ELECTRO-LUBER™ is an industrial designed product. On shakers it is the brass or metal adapter which usually breaks. Remote mounting this is recommended.

Can ELECTRO-LUBER™ be used on electric motors?

Yes, The ELECTRO-LUBER™ can be used on Electric Motors. We recommend on 20 HP and up.

Do I have to use all the ports with a distribution block on the Jack Luber or the Ultimate?

Yes, you have to use all the ports on the distribution block. Plugging the outlets will prevent the spindle from shuttling.

Can the units be refilled?

  • The Originals (Gas units) are a onetime use.

  • The Jack luber’s have a replaceable cartridge.

  • The Ultimate is able to be refilled with a standard grease gun, or a, high volume air operated grease pump

  • The Titan has a standard 400cc grease cartridge that can be replaced.

  • The Titan Oiler can be refilled with Oil.

Can you explain more about the chemical reaction in your chemical/gas units?

The ELECTRO-LUBER™ has an electro-chemical reaction which can be controlled by resistors that control the generation of safe inert nitrogen gas. The use of resisters controls the rate of nitrogen gas being produced.

How do I know when to change out the ELECTRO-LUBER™?

You will be able to tell when the unit is empty by the orange being pushed to the bottom of the unit.

How does the ELECTRO-LUBER™ stand up to a corrosive environment?

ELECTRO-LUBER™ is made out of nylon that is chemically resistant to corrosion.

How much distance can you remote the Ultimate from?

The Ultimate can be remote mounted at a maximum distance of 50ft; we recommend that larger lines be used when going long distances, due to grease separations.

How much pressure does the ELECTRO-LUBER™ produce?

ELECTRO-LUBER™ is capable of producing over 50 psi. The Jack series is capable of producing 200 psi continuously. The Ultimate’s and the Titan’s are capable of producing over 1500 psi.

Will heat or cold temperatures affect the flow rate of the ELECTRO-LUBER™?

Heat and Cold temperatures do affect the flow rates of the lubers, but not significantly enough to negatively affect the performance of the ELECTRO-LUBER™, -40 degrees Celsius (-40 f) to 55 c (131 f)

Why is Class 1 certification important?

Products with Class 1 certification can be used in hazardous locations.

What maintenance is required?

Our units should be check for LED action, periodically, as a part of your general preventative maintenance.

What lubricant is the unit filled with?

Any lubricant the customer requests can be used. In some cases we would recommend using the Ultimate or the Jack luber because of inherent grease separation on long settings.

Are ATS products durable enough for mining?

Yes, we are certified by MSHA (Mining Safety and Health Authority) for use in all mines.

Are ATS products submersible?

Yes, but only the Original series products. Up to 30 feet underwater with a weather cap.

Are the units strong enough to withstand the industrial environment?

Our units are made of a flexible, rugged, and durable nylon.

Can the units be used in an explosive environment?

Yes, ELECTRO-LUBER™ is UL and ATEX Approved.

Can the units be mounted in any direction?

Yes, all units can be mounted in any orientation.

Can I use any oil in the ELECTRO-LUBER™ units?

Yes, we would recommend our oil resistor adapters.

Can I use a fluid grease with your oil brushes?

Yes, one thing to watch for is a build up from the grease.

If I have more than one ELECTRO-LUBER™ on a bearing, will all the units empty at the same time?

Yes, typically within a day of each other.

Can the luber blow a bearing seal? If a seal is blown on a bearing, will the unit empty sooner?

No, ELECTRO-LUBER™ can only develop 60 psi; it takes between 275 psi to 450 psi to blow a bearing seal.

The unit will not empty sooner. ELECTRO-LUBER™ will prevent any contaminant from entering and wearing the bearing.

What is the LED for?

The LED is a good indication that the circuit is complete with the electrolyte, Also a good indication that the batteries are good.

What is the B switch for?

The B switch is applied to make the Luber go 50.000000 faster.

Will the batteries die out?

On a one year setting, the luber has enough power to last for 12 years for a Mini Luber.

In the electrochemical unit, how long does it take for enough pressure to build up for the unit to discharge?

On a one month setting, it will start to dispense immediately; on a twelve month setting, there is a two to three day delay.

Can units be placed on existing grease lines?

With a gas unit we would recommend changing the line. With an Ultimate or a Jack Luber there is no need because of the pressure they are capable of producing i.e.: The jack luber can produce 200psi and the Ultimate can produce 1500 psi.

I have used the spring-type lubricators. Are they like ELECTRO-LUBER™?

No, spring type Lubricators do not build up pressure.

Is it safe to dispose of an ELECTRO-LUBER™ unit?

Yes, it is safe to dispose of a unit, but first remove and dispose of the battery. Please follow the disposal laws within your country.

What is the warranty of the ELECTRO-LUBER™?

ELECTRO-LUBER™ Lubricators come with a one year warranty.
